Education is a fundamental human right, which is very essential for the development of an individual and the society as a whole; hence education should be made compulsory for everyone. In a huge country like India it is monumental task to ensure that each child is literate. It is really difficult to achieve by the government alone, this is what gave birth to the Pratham Education Foundation in 1994. This organization has now become one of the largest nongovernmental organization which helps in providing education to several underprivileged children in India. This organization is present in about 19 states of the country and is reaching out to three million children annually. They work with several schools and societies to make the programmes sustainable. Such organizations help in the better working of the country and helps in reaching the goal of development.
